Fox Decides the Super Bowl will NOT have Political Ads

28 January 2008

One thing is for certain when everybody is sitting down watching the big game, or in many people’s case the commercials, no political ads will be assaulting them.

Although the high priced commercials would be any candidates dream since Super Tuesday falls so close to the Super Bowl, Fox decided that they would not air political ads since they could not offer each candidate equal air time.

Personally, I am glad Fox made this choice.  Not only can the Patriots-Giants Super Bowl be enjoyed in peace, it will help keep the election fair.

Since many ads are attack ads and do not state the candidates credentials, I am glad to know that I get a few hours without political bickering.

It’s about time one of the networks got smart! They should all take the same position and not air any commercials…at all! How many elections have been decided by a flippin’ commercial anyway? They are typically nothing but slander and a twisting of the “truth”.

That would actually be really good if there were no commercials and all that networks aired were debates and speeches with equal talk time for each candidate. It would make elections more equal, not a game of who has the most money and can slander people the most.
